Recliner
IPTV player for your TV Sign in

Privacy

Recliner is built so that we cannot read your data. Not that we promise not to: we do not have the key.

How the encryption works, step by step (what we store, what we can see, and the one thing you still have to trust): Security.

Your playlist

Your playlist (where it lives, your username and your password) is sealed on your TV before it is sent, and the key stays on your TV.

What you watch

We cannot tell what you watched, or when you watched it, or what any of your favorites are called.

Your library index

Your library index (the names, groups and years in your playlist, so this site can search it) is locked on your TV before it is sent. We cannot read it; its size, to the nearest MiB, is all we see. Settings › Privacy on the TV turns it off and deletes our copy.

Signing in

Signing in proves who you are. It does not unlock your data.

Your passphrase

If you lose your passphrase, your data is gone. There is no reset and no recovery. That is what keeps it private.

Setting up a TV

Setting a TV up by scanning the code on its screen tells us nothing about which TV it was.

Your TVs

For each TV we keep the name you gave it, what kind of TV it is, and when it last synced, so that you can sign one out from another. Nothing else about your TVs is stored.

Paying

If you pay for Recliner, the answer we keep is whether your account is paid and until when, and nothing about what you watch.

What we can see

Of what your TVs save, what we can see is how much your account holds and when each TV last synced. We have to, to keep it and hand it back. What any of it is, we cannot see.

What we collect

The email address you sign in with, so we can send your sign-in links and answer you. An account does not need one: you can make it with a username instead, and then we hold no email at all, only that username and a one-way check of a key your browser makes from your passphrase. Nothing can reset that account. For each TV, what is listed above. Whether your account is paid. Your synced library, and a library index of your playlist's names, groups and years for searching on this site, both sealed so we cannot read them. Like any website, our servers also see the IP address each request comes from. The Recliner app itself collects nothing else: no advertising ID, no location, no contacts, and no analytics.

Who we share it with

Nobody, and we sell nothing. Your TV talks straight to the IPTV provider you chose; we are not in that connection. If you pay, the payment is taken by Stripe, which sees your card; we never do.

Keeping and deleting it

We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. How to delete your account: within 30 days everything above is gone, and nothing is kept afterwards.
